What Vitamins Do You Take?

#1

@CS:

Curious to ask which vitamins you take daily…

I take Vit D 6,000 IU, Elitepro Minerals, and Fish Oil 6g daily.

The only vitamin I take is Vitamin D., which is more like a hormone than a vitamin, 5000IU daily, sometimes 10,000 in winter. Full article here: http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance_nutrition/d_is_for_doping

For minerals I use <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/elitepro-minerals"target=“new”>Elitepro Minerals or <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/zma"target=“new”>ZMA.

And of course I use <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/flameout"target=“new”>Flameout religiously as a daily staple, and <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/superfood"target=“new”>Superfood if fruit and veggie intake is lacking.

Really not much of a need for anything else if diet is in check. I think one-a-day type vitamins are a waste unless someone is on a super restrictive pre-contest kind of diet.

How does your Veggie spread look, like whats a daily mix of veggies consist of usually…morning, day and night as well?

6 GRAMS of Vitamin D?! Whoa.

These days it’s mostly a big pile at night, so I’m taking some Superfood to bring that up. For fat loss, it’s usually better to have some with every meal if you’re looking to volumize meals and feel more satiated.

One obtains around 20,000 IU of Vitamin D from the Sun in around half an hour…D is not as nearly dangerous as
perceived to be, but if you take it, Vitamin K SHOULD be taken with it to direct the D where it’s mainly supposed to go.

The Government’s 400 IU recommend dosage is a joke…remember these are essentially the same people that run the DMV.

BTW, the oral Vitamin D3 is derived from Sheep’s Wool, but they ‘soften up’ the origin of it by calling it ‘‘lanolin’’.

@goozebooze:

Ha! Typo: 6,000 IU.

Hey Chris,

Sorry if I’m hijacking the thread.

I usually take Elitepro Minerals but I was thinking about giving ZMA a try to rotate but I read the label and it says it has a lot of Vitamin B6. I am somewhat prone to acne breakouts and I’ve read some Vitamin Bs can cause breakouts. Do you know anything about this?

Thanks!

@CS:

Yeah I do mine at night as well, not using Superfood at the moment. WF has super Organic Chopped Kale bagged, which I micro for 50 sec and then mix that with Organic Girl SuperGreens Salad Mix, and add my super homemade organic super dressing, its really super.

Never heard about that honestly. If you’re taking Elite Mineral then there’s really no reason to switch to ZMA. It has you covered for zinc and magnesium.

Thanks! I thought maybe the ZMA formula has some particular benefits to it that Elitepro doesn’t have, but I guess this isn’t the case.
