Workout #2 done. Chad isn’t kidding around with this workout design. I went the intermediate route – the first day was Heavy and that was straightforward. Today (the supposedly Medium day) was hell. Felt like I was gonna loose it during the last half of the workout, had cramps walking up the stairs out of the gym, and ended up puking all over the parking lot. I’m still not sure if it was the workout, the half digested shake in my stomach, or both, but damn. The Medium day is definitely harder than the heavy day.

#5

It gets better. Wednesday workouts seem to be the hardest but the throwing up part will stop.

I’m on the intermediate as well, and I’m with you. The Wednesday workouts sucks for me. Although on week 4 I think Monday was worse. I could not handle the 15 second rest periods very well at all.

Day 4 down, on to Friday (day 5). I’ve been monitoring the scale, and am down a couple pounds so far. Looking forward to the deadlifts today. My right calf is still cramped up from Wednesday, so I’m hoping that doesn’t interfere. I plan to do some foam rolling during warmup, and hopefully get that relaxed a bit.

Days 5 and 6 done. V-burn challenge kicked my ass. Looking forward to my HSM tonight!

#9

HSM was incredible. Salad, then steak, scallops, shrimp. Made some fried mushrooms (lightly fried in evoo), grilled asparagus, and sweet potato. Mmmm.

Seems like my sense of smell is greatly increased. Went out to the theater today and was able to pick out the popcorn, hot dog, etc. smells. Of course, that might be because I also quit smoking at the same time as starting the V-Diet.

Day 7 down, a quarter of the way there!

#10

Stats update:

  • Waist @ biggest is down .5 inch
  • BF is down from 22.3% to 21.2%
  • Weight is down from 214 to 210

On day 10. About to head out for that killer Wed workout.

I don’t know about the food reprogramming part of this diet. I spend more time now looking at food porn than I ever did looking at sex porn. Damn. I have a list as long as my arm of what I want to make when I’m done with the diet. Of course, pretty much everything on the list is healthy, so I’m probably good there.

I just feel like I could eat a whole cow with a pile of kale on the side and finish it off with a barrel of apples.

You still have 18 more days to go to reprogram the food thing. I felt like you did around day 10, and thought it would be impossible to make myself stop craving king sized bags of m&Ms or burger king hamburgers or pizzas.

And then I started thinking just a plain old grilled chicken breast or a lobster tail would be just freakin fine, and I wanted it ‘right then’! But now on day 24, that stuff still looks good and smells good, but I dont have the instant urge to GET me some right NOW!

Anyway, maybe it will just happen for you toward the end of this whole thing

Yea, I’m not really craving the bad stuff as much, its just craving food and lots of it.

Before I started the V-Diet, I was eating pretty well 80-90% of the time, steak and veggies and brown rice for dinner, eggs, black beans, and veggies for breakfast, stuff like that.

This is more just a craving for piles of food. Its also making me want to cook – the stuff I’m craving isn’t going out to eat, but whipping up this dish or that exotic thing I see, all of which I know would be very healthy and tasty if made from scratch.

#14

Day 11 down. That’s 1/3 there.

I’m going to step up my NEPA, haven’t been getting enough of that in.

#15

1/3! Nice work so far  More NEPA sounds like a great idea. LondonRunner I think it was said he felt that NEPA was a major key to success.

#16

And… half there.

Slipped a bit yesterday – Easter dinner with my girlfriend’s family was the HSM for the week. It was a meal, and it was solid, but not quite healthy. I focused on the protein and didn’t have too much other stuff, and no alcohol, so it wasn’t too bad hopefully.

I’m on the intermediate track and thus far I find the Monday heavy workout is way easy, the Wed and Fri workouts are hard, and the V-Burn challenge is near impossible. I haven’t made it through all the circuits yet. I suppose this means I need to work on cardio after I’m done with the v-diet – I’ve kind of stayed away from full on cardio for the past few months and focused on lifting heavy and fast. Not having the heart and lungs to do light rep heart pounding stuff is killing me.

Problem is, my PCL is gone in one knee, so I can’t run. Maybe some sprinting of some other sort - cycling, rowing, or something. I’ll work that out once I’m done with the V-Diet.

18 days in and still going strong.

Weighed and measured bf via skinfold today on a lark. Came up with 207 and 18.6% respectively, so that’s a 7 lb/4% drop. Sweet!

Tossing a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg into the shakes is total money. 100x better taste.

#18

3rd week done. One more.

#19

Now it’s 3/4!

That weight and measurement of bf from the 16th is great!! Are you going to do an official one today?

And yes cinnamon helps hide the Superfood for me anyway heh.

Nice work so far! Almost done!

Yup! In the home stretch now. Didn’t end up measuring this weekend, will definitely do a final measurement sat or sun.
