Is it ok to add cinnamon to my shakes to increase insulin sensitivity but also as an anti-inflammatory agent? Also, has anyone with Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis tried the diet? What were your experiences?
Yep, no problem there. Pretty much anything non-caloric can be added to the shakes - calorie-free flavorings (like baker’s mint extract), Superfood, and cinnamon are fine.
This thread from a bunch of years ago has feedback from someone who had their colon removed due to colitis and did the original V-Diet (shakes all day, only one HSM per week). He had very good results. But checking with your gastro doc about the plan in general is definitely a good idea.
