Supplement Regimen for a CF Athlete

#1

Hello Chris, I am a coach of 30 years (Junior National Team Biathlon, Tour De France Cycling). I currently own a CrossFit Gym. Most of my client practice non competitive CrossFit and enjoy pushing their limits without soreness and ache.

We currently eat Paleo and add in extra carbs for recovery and to have energy for working out. We train smart and we train hard. We occasionally race 5km, and XC ski races. We practice Olympic Lifting and dedicate to doing all the strength lifts.

I am looking for an edge for myself and my clients. I know this is vague. I could provide more details on the phone if you have time. What do you recommend?

I also have a female CrossFit Athlete that has trained strength exclusively for 3 months.
She is starting to do metabolic (cardio) workouts again and will compete in an event that will have: A Olympic Lifting Ladder, a heavy lifting event, and two to three metabolic workouts none of which will last more then 12 minutes. What would you recommend for her?

In addition, I am wondering what products you would recommend for a pure endurance athlete who will do CrossFit 2-3 times/wk and Strength training 2-3/wk?

The main thing to take care of in all these cases is workout nutrition. This article gets into the details: <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/supplements/what-you-dont-know-about-workout-supplementation"target=“new”>What You Don’t Know About Workout Supplementation

There are a few options here:

<a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/plazma"target=“new”>Plazma or <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/surge-workout-fuel"target=“new”>Surge Workout Fuel will be the main choices.

<a href="http://www.T-Nation.com/store/products/MAG-10"target=“new”>MAG-10

For the most intense workouts, the ideal plan would be to use Plazma as directed on the label (pre-loaded and again during the session) then a pulse or serving of Mag-10 after training.

A pure endurance athlete would do best with Surge Workout Fuel.

As for the competitor, we’ll PM you the protocols we use for our CrossFit Games athletes.

Thanks for your quick reply. I just ordered Plazma, MAG-10, and Idigo 3G. How do I fit the Indigo 3G into the equation. Need to lower body fat 3%. I also ordered the non caffeinated Brain Candy.

If you have supplementation protocols for CF Games Athletes, I would love to see them ASAP. We are two and a half months out from our first competitions.

For Indigo-3G, just take it about 30 minutes before starting your pre-workout serving of Plazma. On non-training days, take before your biggest or carbiest meal.

The protocols have been PM’d (private messaged) to you. Check your PMs under your name in the top right corner of the site.
