Steak and Potatoes (Salad)

Marinade steak for about 8 hours. I like this one – yes, it is from Alton Brown and has some sugar in it, but it is tasty. I’ve cut back on the sugar, and don’t really taste a difference (of course my wife says she can tell). I’ve tried it on steak, fish, chicken, shrimp and lobster.

1/2 cup olive oil

1/3 cup soy sauce

4 scallions, washed and cut in 1/2

2 large cloves garlic

1/4 cup lime juice

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

3 tablespoons dark brown sugar or Mexican brown sugar

Peel and cut sweet potato into fries.
Roast in oven, with a little olive oil and salt, about 40 minutes, at 375

Start charcoal. Grill steak.

Stack lettuce, spinach, broccoli slaw, cottage cheese, steak, vinegar, parmesan cheese, and sweet potato fries on top. It is a travesty that I overcooked the steak, but still good on a Saturday night.

I’ll have to give this a try of sorts. Learn to cook sous-vide then you will never over-cook a steak again :slight_smile:
