Starting V Diet 9-10-12

Hey all, so here is a little background. About 5 years ago I fractured my neck in two places I decide that was the end for me in college football. I played sports my whole life and have always been very active. When I was hurt I became very depressed and quit working out all together.

Aside from the softball games, golf and occasional workout I have not been very active over the last few years. Just to show how differently my body is composed here are two photos, one from 2007 spring right before I reported to spring football camp. The second is a picture of me today. In my photo from 2007 I was 260 and about 10% BF.

Here are my current numbers to go with the second picture.

Body Fat 19%
Height 6’5
Weight 250
Neck 16
Shoulders 51.75
Chest - Upper 43.5
Chest - Lower 43.25
Waist - at Navel 43.75
Waist - at largest 43.75
Hips - at largest 45
Upper Arm - L 14.75
Upper Arm - R 14.62
Upper Leg - L 26.33
Upper Leg - R 26.33
Lower Leg - L 17.62
Lower Leg - R 17.75
Ankle - L 10.25
Ankle - R 10.25

My motivation is pretty clear! I will get back to where I was, I know this wont get me to that point alone but will be a great way to get back into working out and eating right.

Good luck man. I am just finishing my 28 days up this Thursday. You’ll prob hit some rough patches but just stick with it. Posting on here really helped me out, letting me just clear my head. Anytime I talked about the diet with anyone else, All I ever heard was how crazy I am and how much they LOVE food and could NEVER give up eating.

Kick ass man good work! ive done it a few times in the past when i was in good shape and just trying to get lean, this time is a whole new set of circumstances and i am pretty excited to see the transformation. other then a pounding headache i feel pretty decent.

Day 2: Pretty easy day actually much easier than yesterday. Only negative at this point is the super food isn’t the best but keep pounding then down. Excited for another workout day!!

Really?

I mean, is this even necessary?

Its all good man, i was a three sport all state athlete and played college football. I dealt with my fair share of haters, in this case i think he was just trying to let me know that maybe however i was measuring wasnt really accurate.

How close are you to complete?

Day 3: feeling good aside from terrible gas everything is great had a good work out and even went golfing tonight with my lady. the cravings aren’t really even about carbs anymore just anything solid sounds great. Very excited to get to my first hsm still got a ways to go but I can tell a difference in three days.

Good start man. I had the same feeling. As I had already given up grains for the past year, the cravings i experienced every once in a while where not for carbs, but rather something solid. The lack of something solid through the week is a killer sometimes. If you have a good/decent blender; pack that thing up with some Ice and blend your last shake with the nut butter. (trick i used was blend it all to a smooth ice cream like consistency then put the blender on low and “swirl” the nut butter in) This will help you get through the 28 days and also have you looking for a great " pseudo smoothie Ice cream" treat at night.

One other tip, be sure to not add too much water. It’ll take a few times to get it down, but once you do, its magical. ha. And a pretty decent blender is needed to get it to a real smooth consistency.

Day 4: I spaced posting last night feeling pretty good. mixed my nighttime shake up with the nut butter and it didnt dissapoint! for those of you who may happen to read this and are looking for tips i would suggest blending the nut butter and making a thickish almost milkshake! another thing i have found is that if you have the ability to throw your shake in the frezzer for thirty or so minutes prior to drinking it, it makes it more enjoyable.

Workout day today and I am flip flopping my V Burn with the friday workout because I do not have the ablity to do the V burn on the weekend and I really want to do it.

Side note I have made it 4 days and have not touched any food dispite my GF’s repeated attempts to get me to just eat a salad. I told her the last time i did this diet i cut myself some slack at the mid way point I didnt reach my goal, that wont hapen this time.

I cant stop thinking about my HSM sunday and have been trying to figure out what i should make that will satisfy me but not be to over the top. any suggestions for a great HSM?

So I slacked hard this weekend with posting updates but I am still going strong.

Friday I might have had the worst headache of my life but left work early and took a 3 hour nap at about 1 and it was gone. The weekend went great found plenty to do to keep my mind off food tell sunday. ate my solid meal at about 1 felt great to finally get to chew on something with substances. here is a quick shot of my numbers after week 1.

9-16-12 Day 7
Weight -7.5 lbs
Inches -10.5" with about 2 inches of that coming off my gut.

Day 10:

Cravings for food are still around but seems to be getting much easier at this point. noticing a change although i am sure it is more then even i can tell. I am thinking this weekend i will take a half way progress pic and upload.

Day 12: i did the Vburn today and unlike last week when i could not complete due to a terrible headache i completed it in 18:53 might need to take it to the next level on the workouts as i find i am completeing them fairly easily. aside from that i have found myself in a pretty good routine and in a great state of mind. It has certainley gotten easier for me i would say days 2-5 were the worst so far. Maybe it gets tougher again but i can say i am not doubting my ability to complete the full diet at this point which during the first few days can be very easy to do. Ill be posting half way photo, weight and measurmennts Sunday AM.

Day 18: still going strong, been really busty with work and fell behind on the log but I am still feeling alright. kind of hit a stretch where it wasnt difficult. you get in a routine and kinda forget your not eating just as long as you stay busy. the last two days have been pretty rough because ive had some killer headaches but no excuses just going to keep going strong. i think the headaches are due to the lack off caffeine i consumed on the last few days and also because i had quit chewing. I know i am not dehydrated as i drink plenty of water. this weekend will be a tough test because my gf and i are headed to the beach and casino should be interesting.
