Reps for Lunges: Total or Per Leg?

Okay, this may be a stupid question, but I haven’t been able to find an answer anywhere. Do I do 40 total reps per side for reverse lunges? Or do I do 20 reps on the left and 20 reps on the right? Any help would be appreciated!

I think Waterbury means for that to be per leg.

And keep in mind that it’s not 40 reps at once, but 8-9 for the first set (for medium day). Then you do as many sets as it takes to reach 40. Reps per set will go down if you choose weights for the first set correctly. People get really confused about this, so I’m just clarifying.

Yup, I get the rep scheme. I was just unsure if it was per leg or not. It’s gonna be rough, but great at the same time. Thanks for the info!
