On the V-Diet... Very Tired

So my husband and I started the V Diet on Monday… we also decided to take this as an opportunity to get into all kinds of other good habits… like 8 hours of sleep every night etc… he’s been feeling great and energetic during the day whereas just get super exhausted by the afternoon. We are following the training and the NEPA walks as suggested but I really think it’s because my whole day in NEPA whereas he spends a lot of time tied to a desk.

I’m a full time mom of a very active 10 month old so I’m always moving and usually carrying a wiggly 21 lbs with me! Any suggestions on how to keep up the energy in the afternoon through the evening? I’m definitely not considering stopping the diet.

Energy issue will probably take care of itself. Getting rid of any foods that had addictive qualities (junk, wheat, milk etc.) can cause some people to feel withdrawal-like symptoms for up to a week. Basically, a case of the blahs. But it passes, and most feel more energetic as the diet goes on. Plus just lowering carbs and calories can have this effect for some. Depends a lot of what your diet was like before.

Are you taking the HOT-ROX component of the diet? That gives most people some extra energy. If you’re just using one dose, consider moving to two, or having that one dose at noon-ish to battle the afternoon slump. If you’re skipping HOT-ROX since it’s optional, are you okay with other stimulants? You may want to look into <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/brain-candy"target=“new”>Brain Candy or <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/brain-candy-caffiene-free"target=“new”>Brain Candy Caffeine Free. But I think it’ll just take care of itself with time.

Also, make sure you’re timing the shakes correctly, and don’t forget Surge Recovery. Skipping it would mean you’re on a very low cab diet and that can certainly sap you.

Lastly, not to bombard you with more supplements, but look into <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/z-12"target=“new”>Z-12 if needed to get more replenishing sleep.

Thanks! I’m actually taking my favorite fat burner… Vintage Burn from Old School Labs… I take it twice a day when I remember the second dose…I’m not forgetting Surge and the shakes are timed pretty well… I guess I should just hang in there. :slight_smile:
