Late Night Nutrition



I have a 4 month old, and he does not always have a good sleeping schedule. There have been times I have to be up with him for a few hours in the middle of the night. As you can imagine, being tired is one thing, then the hunger kicks in. There is nothing on the menu for a 3 am feeding for me, so what do you suggest to settle my hunger pains for the nights I am up all hours with my 4 month old?



First, make sure you’re having a good final meal of the day - a meaty, higher protein, lower carb meal may get you through the night.

Since you’re not going to cook at 3AM, you may want to pre-prep some of the good stuff in our recipe section:

I’d go for “The Goop” and a rice cake myself. But no rice cake for me unless I’m on Indigo-3G.


I am doing the V-Diet, so what would you suggest then?


If you’re doing the V-Diet, then do the V-Diet. No solid food except for an HSM.

That said, I’ve been there and I feel your pain. Reserve one scoop of protein from one of your day-time shakes and have it at 3AM.

Decaf tea can take the edge off too.
