How Will the Workouts Affect Me?

To preface my question, I’m female, so my primary concern when working out isn’t bulk, it’s maintaining and improving my figure. I’ve done a very similar routine to the one prescribed in the V-Diet before, and it ended up making my thighs and calves (with monitored perfect form from a trainer) enormously out of proportion with the rest of my body (and most importantly my butt), and far more bulked than I ever wanted.

Is there anything special about the diet that will prevent this from happening again? Also, does the workout routine require exhaustion at the end of each set, or do you recommend a consistent lower weight?
