High Level Soccer Player

#1

Could you please advise me on which products to get for my son who plays soccer 6 days a week for over 2 hours per day at a national level of training? Our trainer suggested 8 items but after talking to your staff they suggested that I write to you because several of these overlap with each other. Our trainer’s suggestions were: Metabolic Drive, MAG-10, Surge Workout Fuel, Plazma, Flameout, Superfood, Finibars, and ZMA.

He is 16 1/2 and just entering puberty but wants to build muscle and needs to add stamina to his game.

Thanks much

When introducing supplements to an athlete’s regimen, it’s best to keep things simple and take care of the big things first. With that in mind, let’s think about workout nutrition and practice/game nutrition. <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/surge-workout-fuel"target=“new”>Surge Workout Fuel will be perfect for both. Adjust the amounts as needed and feel free to use more water than called for for long practices and games.

The rest will come down to needs. If the athlete misses meals or makes poor meal choices, yes, a protein supplement like Metabolic Drive is great. If the athlete has a hard time eating quality veggies, fruit, and berries, and/or he gets very few good fats, then Superfood and Flameout will greatly improve his nutrition. If those aren’t real issue with him, then he may not need them yet.

If eating fueling meals before practice or games is hard to manage, <a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/finibar-competition-bar"target=“new”>Finibars would be a great choice. Just eat one before practice and drink plenty of water with it for full benefits.

We’d suggest starting with Surge Workout Fuel for sure and Finibars if needed.
