You can’t tell but the “bun” is portabella mushroom capes. Pretty good, better than lettuce in that they have alot more substance to them and you dont power thru your burger. The only thing is they apparently hold alot of moisture, even after being in the oven at 450 for 10 mins and then another on the grill…
Still, they were pretty damn good!
Grilled mushroom caps make great burger buns! Thanks for posting the pic! Now do some action shots of grilling the caps :)
alright, next time, How long do you grill them for? After being in the oven for 10 mins, I put them on the grill for another 10, and I still a damn near plate full of water, granted they were some pretty big caps.
Well I don’t eat muschrooms by choice so i don’t use them But they do make good buns still.
Haha. look at the oopsie rolls, they are a fun alternative.
I was looking at this, I not a true V-lifer, but I currently eat low carb, low to no grain, and the velocity threads are great resources for Ideas.
I was wondering though, are “bread” products made with almond flour and coconut flour crumbly?
Meaning, how well do they hold up when eating them?
They hold up really well depending on how you make them, if you make the flat bread and use it like a pita, it works well.
