I can’t find almond flour anywhere!!! Is it possible to use finely ground almond meal for this recipe?

Almond flour and almond meal are pretty much the same thing.

Awesome, thanks!!

Could this be made with a reduced fat cheese such as fat reduced cheddar?

Yes, that works fine.

I can’t wait to try this. I’m all about keeping it simple and this looks pretty easy to make.

Made this last night along with the “West African Stew” (Still laughing about that name). They both were SO GOOD! My 6 year old even liked the flatbread but with the price of Almond Flour I think my husband will save it for us! I made it a little thicker so that it almost had a cheesey cornbread-ish texture. Great recipe! Going to try it as pizza next! Thanks!

Glad you’re enjoying those, Catnip!

Have only found almond meal. Is this the same as almond flour?

Yes- make sure you get blanched.

I don’t advise bob’s red mill brand though, it’s too gritty. Something like this brand is good: http://store.honeyvillegrain.com/blanchedalmondflour5lb.aspx

First time poster, but longtime lurker. I have to say, we made this tonight and it was terrific. Paired with home made chili and I had one happy family. Starting the V-Diet Monday, but I’m thinking I won’t be wanting when I get back to mostly solid food. Great stuff.

Glad you liked it, JLauber!
