Deadlifts: Doing Them Right?

#1

Ok, when I’m doing my deadlifts I’m doing exactly what the guy in the video is doing and my weight is heavy enough to do 10-12 reps the first set then it tapers with the next sets, I thought I was supposed to feel these in my hams and glutes, but I feel like my upper body is compensating and I don’t know why, my chest and head are forward and slightly up to not put pressure on my lower back so why am I numb in my lower body?

Well, it’s tough to teach deadlifting via text here, but here’s an article that may help: http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/mastering_the_deadlift_part_i
