When I’m dieting, do I count the calories, carbs, fat, protein, sugar, etc…from veges? I’ve heard people say “no” which I don’t understand…There are calories, etc…in veges, even broccoli, spinach…Why wouldn’t I?
I prefer to count everything if I’m keeping a food log.
But yes, it’s true that the carbs in most fibrous veggies don’t have to be counted really. So if I’m shooting for, say, 100g of carbs per day, and I get 117, then I’m not really going to sweat that since I know a lot of those came from “free” green veggies.
Still, counting everything just simplifies things. Just be consistent in whatever logging/counting method you choose. That’s the important thing.
