#1

Hi Chris. I have realy enjoyed all of the nutirtional advice you have provided on this forum. I was wondering if you had any ideas on what to substitute for breadcumbs when making meatballs?

Thanks!

You betcha.

I’ve made meatballs with oatmeal and almond flour instead of breadcrumbs.

Check this recipe out: http://tnation.t-nation.com/free_online_forum/diet_performance_nutrition_bodybuilding_velocity_recipe/food_friday_spaghetti_meatballs

Also meatloaf, which is traditionally made with bread too:

Almond flour…is there anything it can’t do?

Thanks Chris!

I found this at my grocery store and last time I checked Shugart approved.

It says it’s wheat, gluten, soy and dairy free. No preservatives. Ingredients: Rice flour, water, yeast, salt, sugar. The label says theres practically 0g of sugar per serving

That looks good too. I imagine it is tricky using almond and coconut flour as a replacement, because of the taste difference. WHen I used these as a replacement for pizza crusts, I could certainly taste the difference. For the pizza it was not bad, but I imagine it might taste odd in other things.

Thanks!
