Brain Candy

kobk87 asks:

Does brain candy HAVE to be taken on an empty stomach?

Any supplement working by enhancing the production of neurotransmitters will work better when taken on an empty stomach.

Will it work if you don’t take it as such? Yes, it will still have an effect BUT …

  1. It’s “start of action” will not be as predictable

  2. It’s effect will be lower; a lot of neurotransmitters are actually produced in the GI tract… this is called the enteric nervous system. For example most of the serotonin/feel good neurotransmitter is produced in the enteric nervous system. Using a neurotransmitters booster like Brain Candy will thus be less effective when the stomach is not empty: less neurotransmitters will be produced. The first thing that gets in you stomach has a strong incidence on your neurotransmitters balance for the day.

  3. Both the magnitude, onset and duration of the effect will be unpredictable and irregular.

It is thus much better to use it on an empty stomach if you want to get the most bang for your buck.

I use it upon arising and then have a phenomenal lift!
