I went to a restaurant recently and ordered a chicken dish that came with mashed turnips. As I devoured my plate I said to myself " I NEED TO MAKE THIS AT HOME". I usually only cook for myself so I bought a fairly large turnip and one small one. Cook the same way you would make potatoes. They are much lower in carbs than potatoes and taste almost the same. Even though they are “white” I would much rather eat those than a potato.
Cool. Will have to try that.
I love cauliflower mashed “potatoes” myself: http://tnation.t-nation.com/free_online_forum/diet_performance_nutrition_bodybuilding_velocity_recipe/mashed_fauxtatoes
Cauliflower is pretty much a blank slate, so the flavoring options are endless. I like diced chipotle.
