Biotest

Alpha Male

BoricuaProphet asks:

First and most important question is do I need to combine or can I combine Alpha with other supp’s like Resv, ZMA or other Test boosters?

Is Alpha as effective if taken at half dose, it is kind of expensive…bottle lasts for 3.7 weeks at which point it still has not fully kicked in and already I would need to buy a 2nd bottle???

I will be going blood work before, during and after, so I will be sharing my experience.

One more question, would the same money be better invested on Indigo???

Just in case I am 35, been lifting for just over 4 yrs…maxes are 500 lift, 400 squat, bench is about 250 (have to deal with shoulder injuries and just recently started benching again)

Thanks in advance.

<a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/alpha-male"target=“new”>Alpha Male can be used with Rez-V and ZMA if you’d like. They all work via different mechanisms. For best results, take the full dose and follow label directions.

<a href="http://www.t-nation.com/store/products/indigo-3g"target=“new”>Indigo-3G is a completely different supplement. We suggest reading both product pages and deciding which one is best for your needs. The first question would of course be, do you need a T booster as a primary supplement? Maybe it’s high enough already? Or maybe it’s so low you need replacement therapy? A blood test will let you know. Or, are you better served by taking nutrient partitioning supplement (Indigo-3G)? Only you can answer that, but the product pages will give you the info you need to decide.

Hey man! Last year I started taking Alpha Male and Rez-V together to improve my HPTA. Earlier that year I took Indigo for about two months. Both worked great but, as Chris said, they are completely different in their mechanism of action and effect. In my experience, Indigo improved my tolerance to carbohydrates, my energy during workouts and it helped my lean out some without a caloric restriction. The Alpha Male/Rez-V combo improved sense of well being, alertness and also allowed me to improve my body composition greatly. So basically, both strategies work as advertised. Here are some lab results from before and after the Alpha Male/Rez-V combo:

Test: 1st (before) Result - 2nd (after) Result - (Range)

Total Testosterone: 534.3 - 713.0 - (218-906 ng/dl)

LH: 3.0 - 5.6 - (1.7-8.6 mU/ml)

FSH: 2.2 - 2.7 - (1.5-12.4 mU/ml)

E2 (Estradiol): 29.75 - 24.36 - (7.63-42.6 pg/ml)

Prolactin: 13.35 - 11.76 - (4.04-15.2 ng/ml)

Alas, no. It would have been interesting indeed. From what I’ve gathered, SHBG goes up as we age and basically all we can do to lower it is to lower E2. So according to this, Free T should’ve gone up form both increased Total T and lowered E2. Or so I hope…

when did you take Alpha Male and Rez-V during the day? Did you take 2 or 4 Alpha Male tablets per day? I currently take Alpha Male on an empty stomach in the afternoon and the evening during the week and then taking the weekend off. I take Rez-V in the morning with breakfast.

Well I did my first test… Apparently the only thing done was Total Testosterone (don’t know if this shows the results that we need for this purpose)

ng/mL…(result) 2.10

Range is 2.41 - 8.27 ng/ml

Numbers seem different to eboaders above and it’s because his measurements are in ng/dl. So if I coverted correctly it would read:

Result 210 ng/dl…Range 240 - 827 ng/dl

Holy crap is that shit like reallllllyyyyy lowwww. :(.

I took 4 tablets of Alpha Male per day suing the 5 on 2 off cycling schedule. First dose in the morning and second in the afternoon. Rez-V 3 caps per day also in the morning but I wasn’t super strict with the timing. Just made sure I took 3 every day.

Your result is low but you need further testing to determine whether your hypogonadism is primary (testes not working) or secondary (pituitary gland and/or hypothalamus not working or otherwise suppressed).

Standard tests are: Total Testosterone (you have it), Free Testosterone, LH, FSH, Estradiol, Prolactin.

Head to the T Replacement section of the forum and read the stickies and cases that might be related to your situation. There is a lot of useful info in there including what labs to take, treatment options and protocols and other things you need to consider. Guys there are very willing to help if you are willing to put in the work.
