I think CS has mentioned that perhaps adding in 2-3 pulse fasts during a 2 week period might give you results close to that of the regular 4 week v-diet, but that's most likely only for those individuals that are already pretty lean.
I'm doing an experiment with 3 pulse fasts and 2 weeks of V-diet. You may watch my log and gather your own opinion. Nothing beats the V-diet. Every other modification is just that a modification and experiment.
